72 county times achieved at first ever licensed time trial
A massive thank you to everyone that helped to make the level four time trial a huge success. Hours and hours of hard work went in behind the scenes to enable our swimmers to have this opportunity to gain the extremely challenging qualification times. The attention to detail from meet promoter Louise Taylor and Lisa Pegg was nothing short of outstanding.

The swimmers, as always, did themselves proud and our growing army of parent volunteers ensured that the event ran smoothly and is something we should definitely do again in the future.

72 county qualifying times were achieved. Of these 52 had not been previously done at earlier licensed meets. Superb job everyone!!!
England talent selection for James Brown
Congratulations to Bilston swimmer, James Brown, who has been offered a place on the ASA Para-Swimming Foundation Programme.
Jame's incredible personal best time times at the recent National Para- Swimming Championships in Manchester triggered the selection - the highlight being winning a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle.
The coaching staff are proud of his hard work, perseverance and determination.
Well done James!!!

Bilston balance the books...again
Despite huge investments in coaching staff over the past 12 months and hefty price rises at our Willenhall pool the club is pleased to report that it has made a small surplus for the financial year ending Oct 31 2016. This is even more pleasing as we did not have to introduce any training fee rises during 2016. The club remains committed to ongoing improvements whilst ensuring we are financially stable. It must be noted that the clubs swimschool had its best every year in terms of turnover and this is the main reason we are able to continually strive to do bigger and better things.

Top club for Bilston at Wyre Forest Meet

Overall, the club easily won the top visiting club award and the trophy will be placed in our trophy cabinet at Bilston.

Staffordshire Champions 2012,2013,2014 & 2016

Bilston managed to win the Staffordshire Swimming League for the fourth time in five years in tonight's final at Stafford Leisure Centre. On a night of some truly outstanding swims, our swimmers absolutely smashed it!

Courteney Price and Mitchell Page were made captains for the evening - fitting for both considering their significant contributions to the club. Courteney has represented the club in this competition for 8 consecutive years and I was truly grateful for her support again this evening, Thank you also to Robbie Cattell who stepped out of retirement to win the 50m Breaststroke.

Our B team finished 5th in their gala which will give them an 11th place finish in the league overall. To do so well with so few open age swimmers was absolutely outstanding. I'm also pleased with how the B team have kept going despite not having Pauline poolside - thanks to the volunteers who stepped up to fill this gap.

All in all, this is my proudest day as Head Coach. The club and I remain committed to making continual improvements.

Robbie and Josh to make fantastic new additions to the coaching team
Two new coaches join the coaching team

We are delighted to announce that two long serving members of Bilston SC, Robbie Cattell and Joshua Lockley, have now officially joined the coaching team. Both have been part of Bilston SC for more than 10 years and have represented the club in competitions all around the Midland Region. At the age of 14, both began teaching on a voluntary basis in the club's swimschool whilst still competing for the club. As a result of their dedication and commitment to the club, they were put through their level one and two qualifications by the club. In recent years, Josh and Robbie have also worked at various centres around the local area teaching children to swim.

Josh and Robbie will take on many of Pauline's former responsibilities under the guidance of Kim, our junior coach. I know that both coaches were extremely highly regarded by Pauline for their unwavering loyalty to our club and for being excellent young teachers. They are determined to ensure that the good work done in preparing our youngsters for competitions continues and I know they have had an excellent grounding in the teaching of swimming as producing young teachers and coaches of the future is a huge strength of Bilston SC. Robbie and Josh join Eleanor, Ryan, Mitch and myself as young coaches on the main pool that have been invested in by the club.
Good luck Kiera and Jack
Congratulations to Kiera Langley and Jack Westwood on having being selected to represent Staffordshire in the Inter County Gala at Ponds Forge. We wish them both the very best of luck!
